After various interruptions due to bad weather, work related to the construction of CogenergyLAB has finally been completed, the photovoltaic experimentation centre, developed by Cogenergy spa in partnership with System Photonics and Elettronica Santerno, with the patronage of Commune of Fiorano, the Modena Province, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Agenzia per l’Energia e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (AESS) (Agency for Energy and Sustainable Development).
Located in Fiorano Modenese, immersed in a green piece of countryside that is still intact, CogenergyLAB has set itself as a leading edge centre for researching and developing new photovoltaic technologies, from a point of view of scientific evolution and respect for the environment.
The laboratory, with very few precedents in Italy, consists of a photovoltaic plant created on the ground with a comprehensive peak power of 100 kw. It is subdivided into eleven sub-fields, each one characterised by a different technology, with the purpose of monitoring, at an equal radiation level and environmental conditions, the different levels of yield and efficiency of the photovoltaic panels, besides testing different systems for following solar movement.
Very soon it will be possible to used CogenergyLAB for tests and trials, studying, experimentation, research and as an "experimental classroom" for formative activities. Cogenergy plans on making their know-how on photovoltaic systems, especially to the Research world (Universities and Research laboratories) and Training (Technical Schools, Training entities).
GogenergyLAB will also become an opportunity for all companies developing innovative projects regarding photovoltaic and that are interested in subjecting their products to probative field testing.
In other words, CogenergyLAB will be an opportunity for companies, institutions, researchers and students, a centre for ‘open-source’meeting and exchange for cutting edge development and progress of environmentally sustainable energy.
After the inauguration, taking place on the 30th of June, 5 PM, at the System Conference Room, the laboratory will be active in Fiorano Modenese, via Ghiarola Vecchia 40.
